Let Them Eat Cake at Old Homestead

Maybe the expectations of coming prosperity under a Trump presidency are going to be proven right

Just look at the dinner that can be enjoyed at the Old Homestead Steakhouse on Thanksgiving night

The average cost for a party of ten for a feast cooked at home results in $50 to have to spend

But if you want to really splurge at the Old Homestead a disgusting trend

$50,000 for gourmet treats to the nth degree

From whipped sweet potatoes topped with caviar at $1600 an ounce from the Caspian sea

To a 20 lb organic turkey from the free range at $85 a pound

Stuffing with prized Wagyu beef, foie gras and imported sourdough bread to pass around

To pumpkin ice cream infused with $4200 a bottle rum infused eggnog sauce

Turkey gravy infused with $2890 a bottle bourbon, time to away the keys to the car toss

One diner has succumbed to this extravagant urge

And on this caloric gourmet decadence will splurge

One can only hope with over 46 million Americans on food stamps in this once very prosperous land

That this diner will feel the pangs of a guilty conscience and lend to the less fortunate a helping hand

$50,000 to missions and homeless shelters could easily 20,000 people down and out feed

If this person does not match his decadent splurge and his guilty conscience heed

A pox upon him and hope that with such rich and high caloric amount of food and booze

He or she upchucks the meal and on the table in a flow, to the disgust of fellow diners, the gourmet meal to lose
