Carly's I Could Have Been A Champ Performance

Political theater in these campaigns has a script that violates all the normal rules
After Trump goes presidential in a major foreign policy address
Cruz plays the gender card to Trump’s march to the nomination suppress
Picks Carly for his VP; with her speech she shows she has all the necessary campaign tools
Watching her galvanize the Indiana crowd to Trump and Clinton boo and on her words  applaud and cheer
You could almost feel a Sanders like electricity and energy in the arena air
As she made the case that a Trump or Clinton win would turn the American Dream into a chilling Nightmare
A clear view into the future and way she is the woman that Hillary should really, really fear
I could almost hear Carly paraphrase to herself after with Cruz she left the stage
“A podium, a podium, my nomination for a podium to express my views”
Bared from the prime time Republican debate she knew her run was through
Her chance lost to show her skills and be the headlines on next morning’s front page
This was a race where polls often wrong determined who by the millions of voters on TV would be seen
Pollsters were the gods of this campaign no ifs, ands, or buts
She withdrew as  the debate door to her was by the pollsters shut
Now back into the race with Cruz to block Trump from 1237 before the delegates convene
“A podium, a podium, my nomination for a podium on the debate stage”
For the media in this campaign today had to be a first
A media whose focus on Trump has been an unquenchable thirst
Trump’s landslides and foreign policy debut to be swept off the news front page
