Gun violence is a tragedy that we cannot deny

Far too many innocents in the streets of our cities wounded or doomed to die

Symbols on national TV on a State of the Union Speech by millions of voters seen

Obama determined to the culture of gun violence from the voters wean

Somehow to ram executive action on gun control down America’s throat

Like on closing Gitmo bypassing any Congressional vote

This poet sees another image much more profound

That points out Obama’s failures and his policies as unsound

An empty chair to this poet symbolizes a leader missing in action on the war on terror

From the “JV team” to the Iraqi cut and run, to the Red Line, a complete comedy of errors

MIA to play golf and fund raise

While not in any manner curbing his flagrant spending ways

Ike said it best that leadership is based on integrity without which a “leader” is doomed to fail

With his ends justify the means and legacy building and politics above policy as his holy grail

Finally, an end to this soon be eight year 20 trillion dollars of debt nightmare

With his complete lack of leadership, so highly appropriate to feature an empty chair
