It
seems like only yesterday when the City by the Bay
Was the place to visit with its beauty and quaintness on display
Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, the Cable Cars-- what a great place to spend a
day
Now the beauty is gone replaced by the feces that on sidewalks clog your way
Used needles are the new weeds to clog the park lawns and clog the streets
Strung out addicts is a sight too often one will meet
Pity the poor people who live or are trying to eat downwind
The overwhelming stench from the sidewalk feces or overflowing trash bins
A wave of homelessness that to which the city fathers seem blind
While mortals suffer the city fathers seem the chaos not to mind
People are leaving like rats from a sinking ship
Revenue from sales taxes collected undergoing a massive slip
The greatest bargain to be found in moving is a moving into the city bill
While moving out costs due to demand are an expensive bitter pill
Blue run city, a Pelosi stronghold for almost life
Blue leaders oblivious to the mere mortals’ strife
The CV pandemic with its lockdowns and shutdowns has shown us a silver lining
evastated bars and inside restaurants n longer soaking us with fine dining
But freed many of us to work at home wherever home may become
A state with lower taxes and costs of living so we are left with more than just
crumbs
No more tyranny of one party rule
With roads and streets in shambles and third rate schools
Weather and oceans may be hard to beat
But four seasons can be a welcome treat
San Francisco many still be a city of the Golden State
But how soon before nuggets gone and only iron pyrite on our plates?
