Austin Defunds Police and Crime Rises Off the Charts

 In Austin the felon chickens of crime are coming home to roost
The first stage of defund the police by $21.5 million is giving crime a great boost
Austin used to be a city where crime rarely was found to exist
But with officers demoralized and retiring and new academy classes shut lure of felons to commit crimes too hard to resist
Any violent crime by any measure is on the rise
Pare the thin Blue Line and rising crime should not come as a surprise
Into Austin and you see “enter at own risk” signs
Have to believe in minority neighborhoods that is not what residents had in mind
It is a tragedy that this Red State may be turning Blue
Coupled with a shedding of police, citizens will most certainly rue
