Mass
shootings shock the conscience and leave people wondering how and why
Not
right that a human being could shoot so many innocents and watch them die
Before
the morgue has received the dead we hear the gun control cries
The
left appalled that we cannot today lawful owners owning guns deny
No
more thoughts and prayers to fill the tweeting airs
Gun
control is what we must immediately bring to bear
Even
if background checks and red flags would not mass shootings deter
Maybe
if we just ban semi-automatics our safety from mass shootings we could insure
The
victims’ families are consoled with marches and memorials and resolute speeches
While
another problem begs for solutions that governments can reach
From
mass shootings in 2019 so far 1340 people have been shot of whom 273 have died
Hundreds
of families and friends racked by violence have wept and cried
In
Chicago this year 1887 people have been shot of whom 317 have died
Far
in excess of mass shooting yet the coverage by the media is denied
Never
to make the screen as black on black shootings in Blue cities is not news
Only
when it is white on black, black on white or blue on black or white then interest grew
What’s
worse unlike the mass shooting which is usually random without prior alert
The
urban shootings so drug and gang related are more predictable of when a victim
is to be hurt
All
deaths by shooting or any means are a disaster
But
in places like Chicago strong policing has a chance to events master
Why
not focus on urban shootings we have a chance to reduce
Rather
than stripping law abiding owners while gun toting felons run loose
