Ridley's Believe It Or Not December 15, 2022

With college sports due to NIL set to undergo fundamental changes that will pose great challenges to colleges, players and the NCAA, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, a Red, will become president of the NCAA when its current president steps down in March, 2023 and in PAC 12 news UCLA’s football team has been cleared by the California Board of Regents to move to the Big Ten in August 2024 subject to paying Cal what has been called the “Berkeley Tax” of some $2-$10 million a year to compensate Cal for lost revenues caused by the move. If you live in Orange County, California a welcome relief from shopping and holiday parties and an enjoyable day to celebrate Hump Day would be to watch a maritime Christmas Son et lumière in the Newport Beach Harbor December 14-18 Annual Christmas Boat Parade. Hope you enjoy today’s Ridley's Believe It Or Not  and find it worthy to read and if not reply “Unsubscribe” to be removed.
Ridley’s Believe It Or Not December 15, 2022
Noted Holiday: Cat Herders Day, created by Ruth and Thomas Roy but not sure when but know the holiday is an oxymoron of the nth degree as cats defy any and all methods to herd them as do senior programs whose where difficulties of controlling them was first described as “herding cats” in the 80’s.
Word of the Day: The word of the day is “aceldama” a site or scene of violence or bloodshed which describes sadly most if not all of our urbans sites and large numbers of movies produced and hitting the theaters and video games sold.
Number 1 Song of the Day: The number 1 song on this day in 2002 was “Lose Yourself” by Eminem on a run of 8 weeks  to share with 8 other songs achieving number 1 status while 5 acts, including Eminem, achieved their first number 1 song. Here is a music video with lyrics of Eminem performing “Lose Yourself”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Yhyp-_hX2s
Noted Birthdays: Dave Clark, born on this day in 1939, who founded the Dave Clark Five, the first band after the invasion of the Beatles to participate in the British invasion. Clark was an astute singer songwriter who required any songwriter in the band to assign the copyright to him even if he did not co-write the song. The Dave Clark Five was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008. He is still alive at 82 living in England but no longer performing.

Quote of the Day: Harry Browne, noted American writer and investment adviser and Libertarian Candidate for President in 1996 and 2000 on the importance of the Bill of Rights: “The Bill of Rights isn't some legalistic fine print. It was written to make our lives freer, more prosperous, and happier. By forsaking it, America has become no better than any other country in the world.”
