Millions upon millions have been spent on the
Georgia Senate runoff which is taking place today in what would have been a
race to determine who would control the Senate, but that issue was decided
after votes were counted following Election Day as the Blues with the Vice
President voting on ties retained control and the influence of Senators Manchin
and Sinema lessened if Warnock wins. The race is a tossup leaning to Warnock,
but the amount of money spent by both sides represents a sad commentary on the
role of PAC money in determining election outcomes. Trust your tree has been

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not December 6, 2022
Noted Holiday: National
Pawnbrokers Day, celebrated on December 6 of each year which is St. Nicholas
Day which honors the patron saint of pawnbrokers to honor the importance of
this $3 billion industry in the U.S. but has been with us since ancient times.
Not sure when it started or who other than perhaps the National Pawnbrokers
Association created it but with rampant inflation, growing credit card debt and
recession fears look more utilization by strapped consumers pawning valuables
for need cash.
Word of the Day: The word of the day is “absquatulate” which means to
decamp or flee quickly which describes to a tee what residents may have to do
during wild fires or if in Hawaii from Mauna Loa which started erupting again
on November 27, 2022 after 38 years of dormancy.
Number 1 Song of the Day: The number 1
song on this day in 2011 was “We Found Love” by Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris on a
run of 8 weeks to share with 13 other
songs reaching achieving number 1 status while 9 acts including Calvin Harris

Birthdays: Andrew Cuomo, born on this day in 1957, was the son of former N.Y.
Governor Mario Cuomo and who served as governor for 3 terms and had announced
in 2019 his intent to run for a 4th term in 2022. Those plans were
derailed by (1) his response to COVID-19 by sending COVID-19 infected patients
into nursing homes with a very vulnerable elderly population causing over 6000 nursing
home deaths and then undercounting the deaths, (2) his reptilian brain that
caused 11 female employees and journalists to come forward to complain about
his sexual harassment, and (3) his use of state employees to assist him in his
book American Crisis which earned him some $5.1 million which the state
ordered him to repay. Facing growing demands for resignations from both sides
of the aisle and almost certain impeachment, he resigned on August 10, 2021,
effective August 24, 2021.

Their loved ones and the public deserve answers and transparency from their elected leadership” One of the few times this poet has agreed with Representative AOC.
