A popular story is he was trying to find the fountain that would aging abate
He failed and on a later trip trying to colonize loss of life for him would await
In L.A. today a L.A. Councilman with the same surname is trying to avoid a
similar fate
Kevin de León is not facing a loss of life only his 200 grand plus council seat
Caught on tape with Council President and another member in racist rants now
taking a lot of heat
He is not white but Hispanic and finds himself like so many innocent whites tagged
as a racist
All whites are not racists but the charge of racism is so quickly tossed and
hard to resist
If we are ever going to presence of real racism bring down in defeat
Accept racism can be Black on White, Black on Hispanic, White on Hispanic and
all in reverse two way streets
No elected or appointed official should use racism to
determine his or her acts
Have to recognize a racist can be of any color and urge it must be attacked
If we must judge a person, it must be based on character not color of skin
Then and only then can prosperity with equality have a
chance to win
De Leon has become the latest Marvin K. Moody who in the Council does not
belong
Each day he remains despite protests is another day that is totally wrong
