Johnny
Football on the field was a scrambling razzle dazzle
Zigging
and zagging left and right to the defense frazzle
But
off the field away from the fans’ cheers
The
dazzle was dropped in favor of drugs, spirits and beers
Johnny
Football could party all night long
A
drink always in his hand rocking to the sounds
Too
many drinks, too many drugs
That
soon his skill could not sweep under the rug
Slowed down, passes gone soon no longer zigging
and zagging free
Too
soon cornered by abuse and now up a rehab tree
From
a Heisman Trophy his freshman year to being drafted then cut by the Browns
Another
example of a career by booze and drugs cut down
Problem
for him is that alcoholics when it comes to sobriety and relapse lie like rugs
Too
often covering up the facts that they have been using once again booze and
drugs
Hopefully
he will finally a sober path choose
For
now the ante has been upped and he has a wife to lose
