Chemists tell us water is the universal solvent
But so is beer and wine and munching repasts at sporting events
In a time when we are so bogged down and can only bicker
What a breath of fresh air watching the NCAA CBP Finals to
munch on Monica’s homemade cookies topped with slice of Snickers
When it comes to water, blood is always thicker
When it comes to fights with a cookie in hand—only for those who are sicker
Tonight each time TCU tried to long passes unload
Passes were incomplete or intercepted to TCU hopes to erode
Long passes to Bulldog receivers wide open were caught
Any hopes that TCU would engineer an upset quickly went for naught
Bulldogs were up 38-7 at the end of the first half
For TCU fans too hard to find enough libations to drown sorrows with quaffs
The second half sadly for TCU was more of the same
Bulldogs scoring 27 more points and TCU offense shut out down in flames
So bad the patrons chose to the channels to other sports change
Anyone watch the continuing slaughter had to be deranged
And for the fans watching at the Beach Hut Deli
Only thing that mattered was that Monica’s gourmet cookies
sated their bellies
