What is rapidly degenerating into a clown show in the House as a slim
Red majority is trying to elect a Speaker of the House to replace Pelosi and in
the 6th vote completed before
the House adjourned, McCarthy lost that vote also (the longer the impasse the
greater chance voters will be dismayed over the apparent inability to run the
House much less the nation). On the good news front, the Buffalo Bills have
released a status report on Damar Hamlin indicating although still sedated and
in an ICU in critical condition, he is showing signs of improvement (fortunately
Damar for his own good is probably too sedated to watch TV to see the idiocy of
The View liberal panelists attacking heterosexual men and conservatives
for supporting tackle football. A note of appreciation on this Hump Day which
is also Pop Music Chart Day which enables me to post The Song of the Day. Will
be a challenge to stay dry in California as we are being hit with much needed
rain. I hope you enjoy today’s Ridley's Believe It Or Not and find
it worthy to read and if not reply “Unsubscribe” to be removed.
Ridley’s Believe It Or Not January 4, 2023
Noted Holidays: Pop Music Chart Day,
clueless as to who created this day or when first celebrated but for
artists to have a record be a number one song or in the Top 40 number is a
financial windfall which grows larger for each week the song is on the charts.
Word of the Day: The
word of the day is “ademption” which means to revoke a donation by the donor
which probably describes what many alumni donors might want to do as they see
their alma maters become more Woke each year.
Number 1 Song of the Day: The
number 1 song on this day in 1989 was “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” by Poison on a
run of 3 weeks starting on December 24,
1988 to share with 31 other songs achieving number 1 status while 12 acts
achieved their first number 1 song. Here is a music with lyrics video of Poison
performing “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

quarterback who won the Heisman Trophy in 1947 playing for Notre Dame and then
for the Chicago Bears for 4 years before returning to Notre Dame as an
assistant coach for two years then going into the Chevrolet car dealership
