Wonder when the felons and wanna-be felons will get the word
More and more the idea a homeowner is not armed is absurd
In Chicago an 80 year old who a felon would think to be too frail
And who against a couple’s home invasion robbery an ineffective defense to avail
Must not have been aware
Of FOID cards that meant a gun would be there
The wanna-be’s knock on the home’s door
And were sadly let in to knock the owner to the floor
Battered and bruised he was able to draw his gun and fire
The male felon was hit in the chest but did not expire
Managed to somehow flee and to a hospital in critical condition go
At the ICU seeing an obvious bullet wound and blood flow
Personnel must have called the police who came to arrest
Homeowner went to the hospital also injured but not a critical
condition test
