Peter Kaiser has won the Iditarod coming into Nome at 3:19:06 this morning closely followed in 2^nd place by Joar

Ulsom at 3:31:22. 40 mushers are still on the trail with Jessie Royer out of White Mountain in 3^rd place and Aily Zirkle in 4^th 7 hours 1 minute out of White Mountain behind her. Matt Hall is in 5^th   in White Mountain followed by the following mushers all in White Mountain: Travis Beals, Paige Droby, Ramey Smyth and Aaron Burmeister. Mitch Seavey has fallen back to 10^th out of Elim. Kristi and Anna Berrington are tied in 17^th and 18^th place out of Koyuk 14 minutes behind Jessie Helmes in 16^th out of Koyuk. In the race to stay in the purse Jeff Deeter is in 20^th out of Koyuk while Matthew Failor is still in 21^st in Koyuk. Richie Beattie, the top male rookie is in Koyuk in 24^th place along with 8 other mushers in Koyuk that have some chance of getting into the purse. Jessica Klejka the top ranked female is in  Unalakleet in 31^st place. Cindy Gallea is in last place in Kaltag 29 minutes behind Victoria Hardwick in Kaltag in  41^st who is only 4 minutes behind Jeremy Keller in 40^th place. I continue to admire the tenacity of the musher to try to achieve their goal of finishing the race as the number who have dropped out remains at 10 and sadly for those in the rear, Kaltag is a long, cold and miserable 261 miles of loneliness to Nome.
