Mutt Lynch Sunset

Mutt Lynch Sunset
The Sun on the British Empire may have long since set
The Lion hobbled with lost colonies and mounting debt
But the Sun over the sand at Lynch’s is still going strong
Skaters, bikers, strollers, skateboards in front in a never ending parade moving along
Serenaded from within by another hit song
Peering out far from Sacramento’s drifting wrongs
An open window on life right before one’s eyes
On this day at the beach the future is upbeat, the storm clouds defied
A one party state, jobs fleeing like rats on a sinking ship
But at Lynch’s gazing out into a setting Sun easy for despair to relax its grip
A server with a smile who knows the special tacos are great
Another great way to end the day, and the good times at the sands in Newport sate.
