Salute to Good Friday and Easter
Today is Good Friday, a day 2023 years ago when Christ died
On a heavy cross he lugged up a hill to be crucified
Christian mourn not his death but rejoice over his later
resurrection
To reflect on their faith and hit the recharge spiritual selection
For the children no need to ponder theological tasks
Rather to find the hidden Easter Eggs and too anxious to their excitement mask
While their parents may be in devotional prayers their children
ponder the question
Why is the Easter Bunny, a nonegg layer the star and the
overworked hens barely an honorable mention?
At a time when Easter Egg shells are breaking with inflation
Will the annual Easter Egg Hunt be subject to plastic degradation?
Let’s hope not digging deep into our wallets and looking at a warming Easter
sky
Hope our prayers for an end to hostilities around the world,
God will not deny
Easter is a day to enjoy the Easter lilies
And the bonnets worn so lacy and frilly
And for the nation putting the idea of United back into our hearts
On this Easter let this be the Easter that divisiveness stops pulling us apart
