Lawyers for Teacher Abigail Shot in the Chest by a Six Year Old Student In Her Class Intend to File $40 Million Law Suit For Damages

 

The six year old who shot his teacher Abigail Zwerner in the chest
Because of age and mental issues will not be subject to arrest
Rather he is being treated for now in a mental health facility
Zwerner and her lawyers hope he is cured of his disabilities
And agree that the prosecutor’s decision was right
But now the school district is exposed to the tort laws might
Lawyers for the Zwerner will file a $40 million suit against the school district
For failing to take measures to protect her from damages the shooter did inflict
They will allege the warning signs of his violent behavior were in plain sight
The school administrators were warned of such behavior and did not act
Worse on the day of the shooting they were warned three times he had a gun before his attack
A six year old with a gun at school should be like a five alarm fire
Even if he wanted only to show and tell an accidental discharge and a child could expire
Zwerner in her class saw the gun and immediately went to get it back
Shot through her hand and into her lung but courage she did not lack
Bleeding and with a collapsed lung she got her screaming and terrified “babies” out of the classroom
Started hobbling out of breath to principal’s office as unconsciousness loomed
To make it and then falling to the floor pass out
Lucky her hand deflected or on death for her no doubt
Not sure what the verdict or settlement will be
Do not know why the parents have not been charged fin this tragedy
Maybe $40 million is too much but she will suffer PTSD for the rest of her years
Probably will never teach again if she cannot overcome her fears
Like the victim this poet hopes the child gets enough treatment to make him well
If not treated you can take it to the bank that a future shooting when not if only time will tell
