South Korean Court Bans Killing of Dogs for Food

A dog may be man’s best friend
But in many places our canines are subject to troubling trend
In parts of the world a dog is subject to an unwelcome fate
In places like South Korea he is destined to be served up on a plate
An estimated 1,000,000 dogs annually are eaten at South Korean meals
A city court has ruled against a dog farm owner as a first step for the practice to repeal
Legislation has been introduced to ban the slaughter at the nation’s 17,000 dog farms for use as meat
Rising number of Koreans are declining on chomping of Fido means the measure may not go down to defeat
Today more tails may be wagging with tongues wanting to human faces lick
With chances of ending a practice, animal  lovers view with distaste and sick
With South Korea leading the no more dog meat crusade on plates to display
China, Vietnam, and Nigeria may ban farms from canines to be slayed
