A Romantic Poem By the Alaskanpoet May Be the Ideal Valentines' Day Gift

On Valentines’ Day when you want to woo your girlfriend or enhance your love of your wife
What gift can you give to your love convey and enjoy a longer life?
Roses stand front and center in the list of gifts to celebrate the day
Such beautiful bouquets to warm a woman’s heart even though the petals soon wilt and into the trash find their way
Gourmet chocolates are probably in second place
Blessed with such a succulent and pleasing taste
But too quickly devoured  and leaving a pound gained as its trace
A dinner at a five star like restaurant with gourmet courses to your table grace
If lucky a photo of the two of you eyeing each other and the courses before grabbing fork or spoon
Which if framed might make the memories of the evening never fade away soon
Perfume is also a likely gift winner
The scent turning heads into spinners
But like the rose petals the scent will fade way
Maybe a diamond necklace or bracelet is the gift that will stay
But not if you live in a city where violent crime in too many cases exists
And the temptation of a felon to pull a gun and rip them off is too hard to resist
So the answer to the question should be an original commissioned romantic poem
Framed and recited over dinner to later be hung in a room at one’s home
The words should bring tranquility and serenity and insure the expression of love never fades away
AA bulwark to keep the winds of dissension, anger and divorce at bay
