November 26, 2018 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Good Grief Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 26, 2018 Finally some sense of rationality on the illegal alien caravan front as Mexico has moved to deport those who tried to overrun the border (seeking a job is not grounds for asylum and they should be deported immediately if apprehended); Ocasio-Cortez back in the news making a fool of herself comparing the Jews in Nazi Germany to the illegal asylum scammers in the caravan while celebs slam Trump for using tear gas on illegals charging the border fence in Tijuana; Beto O’Rourke that failed Texas Senatorial run dork now is considering joining the crowded 2020 field (he must have not spent a lot of the millions he raised and is feeling cocky); on the space front the InSight Lander has successfully landed on Mars and is beaming back photos of the Martian surface (the probe will analyze below the Martian surface as a prelude to a manned expedition in 2030); with no ability to obtain quid pro quo donations to the Clinton Foundation are dropping like a hot rock from $62.9 million in 2016 to $26.7 in 2017 giving credence to the pay to play accusations by Reds; Emanuel’s announcement that he will not seek reelection has not curbed the gun violence as through November 25, 2018, 2718 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 457 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of mostly people of color by mostly people of color).

3. 1961 Number One Song— the number one song in 1961 on a run of 5 weeks in that position was “Big Bad John” by Jimmy Dean. Here is a recording of the song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnnHprUGKF0
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day as we moved from words beginning with “m” to words beginning with “n” is “nous” which means pure intellect or reason, a trait which most in the Swamp lack.
5. Long Leg of Success--celebrating the birth on this day in 1939 of noted singer and actress Tina Turner known for her voice and long legs and who fortunately for her safety and sanity divorced Ike Turner due to his abuse, infidelities and substance abuse to go on to forge a very successful solo career.
    On this day in:
a. 1863 President Lincoln proclaimed the 4th Thursday in November to be Thanksgiving the day on which it has always been celebrated except during 1939-1941 when President Roosevelt moved it up one week to stimulate retail sales during the Great Depression.
b. 1976 Sex Pistols released “Anarchy in the U.K” heralding the arrival of punk rock.
c. 1998 Prime Minister Tony Blair became the first prime minister to address the Irish Parliament.
d. 2000 Katherine Harris certified George W. Bush to be the winner of Florida which put him at 271 electoral votes one more than needed to become president prompting litigation that went up to the Florida Supreme Court and then to SCOTUS which halted the recount and put Bush into office.
e. 2003 the Concorde made its last flight ending supersonic commercial air traffic.
Reflections on abusive relationships: “For anyone who's in an abusive relationship, I say this: Go. Nothing can be worse than where you are now. You have to take care of yourself first—and then you take care of your children. They will understand later.” Tina Turner Wise advice from someone in an abusive relationship.
