State Department's Global Engagement Center, a Euphemism For Domestic Censorship Has Lost Its Funding but Its Deep State Censors May Have Been Reassigned

 

Federal agencies once created have a tendency to become immortal and impossible to kill
Like cockroaches, brain cancers  or toe fungus in fighting extermination they have unparalleled skill
The Department of State in 2016 created the Global Engagement Center to foreign disinformation fight
But quickly morphed into an agency that blacklisted Americans and attacked their First Amendment rights
Attacking for example any one promoting the narrative that the COVID-19 virus was  in the Wuhan Lab engineered
Or attacking news stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop that questioned that it was Russian propaganda to make them disappear
Texas as the premier state in defending a closed border and attacking government censorship filed a lawsuit over the Center’s censorship
As conservatives across the nation the activities of the Center were beginning to rip
Finally in the annual Pentagon’s budget $61 million funding for the Center was deleted and offices for its 120 personnel were closed
But before the corks are popped over its demise we do not know whether the staff was fired or whether Foggy Bottom found them another place for their destructive practices to sow
