Ask a poet and this is what he most likely would say
Trump declared a National Emergency to billions of aid free
Some signs in Congress that members are not barking up the partisan rhetoric tree
While signs of panic from empty shelves fill the air
Help is being sought by National Day of Prayer
We have woken up to fact China is our competitor not our friend
Alarm bells ringing to their monopoly on antibiotics seek to end
Young seem not at risk
Rest of us are hand washing very brisk
Fathom is the new mantra, the new shield to us safe keep
A barrier that will prevent virus from one another to leap
If we come together and face this threat as one
There may be some deaths but this is a fight that can and will be won
No virus spreads forever and like the Spanish flu it will bog down
The scourge will in our cities and towns
If not today a date in the future if we ask when
Support the fathom, wash your hands, practice good hygiene until then.
