to keep the peace is to train for war

service is a dangerous occupation that is hard to ignore
A fact
brought home in the waters off the Philippines
When on the USS Essex swept overboard was a U.S.
Marine
Five days of
desperate searching to no avail
No body
found, declared dead and the search curtailed
Four times
as many military personnel are killed in training than in combat
Sequestration
of military budgets with aging equipment may be a cause of that
Trump has
ended the starvation of the military so maintenance can increase
That and new
equipment should mean that training deaths will decrease
One half of
one percent of our population in the military serve
Willing to
take personal risks to our freedoms preserve
While thugs
in antifa attack a Marine Corps recruiting station
Impairing
the support of the military of this great nation
