july 6, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Air Traffic Control Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 6, 2016. Only 198 days left to endure President Obama’s term and worse since Comey after detailing HRC lied to us and was grossly negligent (extremely careless) in handling emails with classified material which is a felony, Comey declined to recommend prosecution. A commentator on Fox said it best this election is no longer about Reds, Blues and Independents, it is about Washington, D.C. versus the rest of the country, especially the country between San Francisco and Beverly Hills on one side and Washington D.C. on the other; if extremely careless is the same as gross negligence the only reasonable prosecutor that would not prosecute HRC for failing to secure emails marked classified is Obama desperate to get her elected for legacy preservation and Lynch who violated big time ethics by meeting with the man who appointed her and HRC’s husband.
On the sports front Rio faces a two pronged assault, one from the Zika virus and the other its pending collapse on the financial front and political front; Barcelona soccer star Lionel Messi was convicted of tax fraud but will have his 21 month jail sentence suspended.
On the good news front which after watching the farce yesterday on Hillary Clinton, news out today that root canals may now be a thing of the past.  www.lyingcrookedhillay.com is a great way to start your day along of course with www.alaskanpoet.blogspot.com
As always, I hope  you enjoy today’s holidays and observances,  music links to Sir Mix A Lot and Bill Haley and His Comets, factoids of interest, relevant transmissions between and ATC and pilots while looking forward to enjoying fried chicken, blessed with a positive attitude and  secure in  the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or  anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem  at a great price  tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. National Fried Chicken Day—celebrating that unique American restaurant staple; today would be a good day to see what specials KFC or Popeye’s might have to celebrate the day.
2. National Air Traffic Control Day—celebrating the creation of our air traffic control system that somehow manages to keep the thousands of planes in the sky overhear at any given time from colliding with each other either in the air or on the ground but now facing another threat the proliferation of drones which in terms of effects on a plane would be like a seagull or starling on massive amounts of steroids hitting a plane with disastrous consequences.
3. 1992 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1992 on a run of five weeks in that position “Baby Got Back” by another pointless rapper Sir Mix A Lot. Here is a link to Sir Mix A Lot performing “Baby Got Back.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JphDdGV2TU
4. National Fried Chicken Day—celebrating a dish that is about as American as apple pie (even though apple pie originated in Europe not here.
5. A Comet Exposed To The Sun Melts Its Tail And Dies—celebrating the birthday on this day in 1925 of Bill Haley, the singer who many believe created and popularized rock and roll with his band Bill Haley and the Comets, but was an alcoholic who slowly faded away due to the disease and died too early in 1981 at the age of 56.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgdufzXvjqw check out the long skirts and dancing moves
On this day in:
a. 1854 the first convention of the newly formed Republican Party was held in Jackson, Michigan (have to believe it was a lot more sedate than the convention that will be held shortly in Cleveland, Ohio.
b. 1885 Louis Pasteur successfully tested his rabies vaccine on Joseph Meister, a boy who had been bitten by a rabid dog.
c. 1944 Jackie Robinson while serving in the U.S. Army in a move repeated by Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of a civilian public bus which led to his court-martial at which time he was acquitted; shameful treatment but it did prevent him from seeing combat in Europe in a tank unit which given the tendency of Shermans to burst into flame when hit by an Tiger or Panther may have saved him to later break the color barrier in baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
d. 1990 the Electronic Freedom Foundation a non profit group dedicated to preserving digital freedom and exposing government malfeasance in the internet arena was founded.
e. 1995 in an act of barbarity not seen since World War II, Serbian forces under Ratko Mladic began attacking the Bosnian town of Srebrenica, killing more than 8,000 Bosnian civilians. He is being tried as a war criminal in the Hague.
A bit of levity from Air Traffic Control to break the stress and strain of a very serious business where lives are always potentially at risk. Tower: "Delta 351, you have traffic at 10 o'clock, 6 miles!"
Delta 351: "Give us another hint! We ... have digital watches!"
A Pan Am 727 flight waiting for start clearance in Munich
overheard the following:
Lufthansa (in German): "Ground, what is our start clearance

time?"
Ground (in English): "If you want an answer you must speak in
English."
Lufthansa (in English): "I am a German, flying a German airplane,
in Germany. Why must I speak English?"
Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent):
"Because you lost the bloody war."
============================================================
Tower: "Eastern 702, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure
on frequency 124.7"
Eastern 702: "Tower, Eastern 702 switching to Departure. By the
way, after we lifted off we saw some kind of dead animal on the
far end of the runway."
Tower: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff behind Eastern 702,
contact Departure on frequency 124.7. Did you copy that report
from Eastern 702?"
Continental 635: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, roger;
and yes, we copied Eastern... we've already notified our caterers."

Comey's Observations May Sink HRC

Today could have been the 14 minutes that were the dragon teeth that will her campaign derail
Comey did more than announce no recommendation to prosecute he called her a liar in essence her quest should fail
Worse he ridiculed her judgment when it came to security as being extremely careless
She and she alone in her paranoia quest for secrecy created this national distress
As much as this poet believes she purposely justice did obstruct by wiping her server clean
Her and her husband’s character flaws of deception and non transparency they could not wean
As much as this poet is convinced that she turned State into the quid pro quo Clinton enrichment store
The millions of Blues voting for her for whatever reason chose to her faults ignore
Even with superdelegates that for Sanders made the system corrupt and unfair
Indicting her would have thrown the election already under strain in our social fabric now subject to great tear
Comey set fourth the facts that Reds and Indies and yes some Blues may take heart
Too paranoid, too deceptive, too lying, too corrupt, too careless, poor judgment watch her support depart
Any gloating in the Clinton Camp should be very short-lived and brief
Comey 14 minutes will come back to haunt her and on Election Night bring much grief
When it comes to believing Comey or Hillary the question is not even close
If we vote for this liar we are the extremely careless ones and our negligence is more than gross

When It Comes To Clintons, System Rigged

For 14 minutes the director of the FBI spoke detailing how Hillary had consistently to us lied
Almost like in a Chick Hearn moment no foul no harm so she won’t be tried
Couldn’t prove that her private server had been hacked
Never went down the blatant quid pro quo corruption track
“Extremely careless” sure sounds like gross negligence which is all you need
To put a felon in prison for basic security protections failing to heed
If anyone believes that extremely careless does not meet the gross negligence test
That person is suffering from a major political bias infest
The director took no questions and he must have known the handwriting was on the wall
No way after endorsing her and proclaiming her innocence would Obama allow her to not run in the fall
No way that after meeting secretively on the tarmac would Lynch keep her from the Inaugural Balls
Justice today was dealt a death blow, stopped in its tracks in a mortal stall
Time for Trump to these tweets on “crooked Hilary” cease
But ads comparing her own lying words with the FBI’s findings exponentially increase
Just in the caliphate to win we need boots on the ground
Trump has got to open his wallet to put staff and volunteers with voters to start making the rounds
Running out of time
Making it so much harder to defeat this dishonest careless slime.

July 5, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Bikini Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 5, 2016. Only 199 days left to endure President Obama’s term. Trust your 4th of July weekend was a good one although the carnage continued unabated in Chicago with 60 people shot and five killed; with stop and frisks down by over 90% no wonder parts of Chicago are more dangerous than Iraq; ISIS attacked mosques in Saudi Arabia; Obama campaigns with HRC in North Carolina and Trump will do the same but in his case he is footing the bill for Trump 1 but will HRC’s campaign pay for Air Force One?; growing calls for Loretta Lynch to resign after her tete-a-tete with Bill Clinton aboard her private jet for 30 minutes; in a what do you expect moment Hillary’s top aide Abedin admitted that Hillary routinely burned her daily schedules and finally in a really sad day for the integrity of the FBI, the FBI revealed today they would not be recommending a criminal referral to the DOJ but sadly expected after Obama endorsed her, early on proclaimed her innocence and is campaigning with her today. The director called her conduct with classified materials “extremely careless” which is the same as gross negligence which should have put her in prison for up to ten years.
On the goods news front and do we need it after the FBI’s announcement the Jupiter probe Juno after a five year trip costing $1.5 billion dollars has successfully entered Jupiter’s orbit. www.lyingcrookedhillay.com is a great way to start your day along of course with www.alaskanpoet.blogspot.com

July 3, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Bean Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 3, 2016. Unfortunately still 201 days to go in President Obama’s pathetic lame duck term as he pivots to doing what he loves to do which is campaigning for our potential felon Hillary Clinton  since he is a complete failure as a president; the fat lady sang yesterday to the FBI most likely assured after her hubby’s tete-a-tete with Loretta Lynch that she had nothing to worry about as the liberal media on Sunday is leaking statements that no indictments—Trump is right Hillary and Bill have raised the mordida and quid pro quo to an art form extracting millions of dollars from governments and corporations needing favors from the Secretary of State and what is worse she may get away with such criminal conduct; the “contained” ISIS has killed over a hundred twenty-five innocent people in Baghdad; in yet another example of the feckless strategy of this administration, the New Syrian Army like the South Vietnamese Army decades ago invading Cambodia failed miserably despite air support in an attempt to seize an ISIS controlled border crossing.
On the good news front which has very little items to normally report, Michael Phelps worn his last race in the U.S. notching a number one in the 100 meter butterfly in the qualifying meet for the U.S. Swim Team in the summer Olympics and an army vet armed with a .22 rifle was able to sever a rope holding an eagle upside down in a tree branch to save the bird.  Going to www.lyingcrookedhillay.com is a great way to start your day along of course with www.alaskanpoet.blogspot.com
As always, I hope  you enjoy today’s holidays and observances,  a music link to New Kids on the Block, factoids of interest, a  relevant quote from Senator Cory Booker while looking forward to enjoying some beans with or without beano blessed with a positive attitude and  secure in  the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or  anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem  at a great price  tailored to the event and the recipient. 1. Stay Out Of The Sun Day—another whimsical holiday that actually in the days of mounting melanoma makes some sense; find a bit of shade today because tomorrow you will be probably be baked at your 4th of July barbecue.
2. Disobedience Day—another whimsical holiday that may have something to do as being a warm up for the true day of disobedience in 1776, our Declaration of Independence from Great Britain.
3. 1990 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1990 on a run of three weeks in that position “Step by Step” by New Kids on the Block. Here is a link to New Kids on the Block performing “Step by Step.”  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay6GjmiJTPM
4. National Eat Beans Day—celebrating if you are downwind of your fellow diners, a great and nutritious food source.
5. Not All Castles Are Camelots—celebrating the birthday on this day in 1883 of noted author Franz Kafka who wrote such masterpieces as Amerika and The Castle but died way too early from tuberculosis at the age of 41.
On this day in:
a. 1839 the first state normal school (a school formed for the purpose of teaching high school graduates to become teachers) was opened in Lexington, Massachusetts.
b. 1886 The New York Tribune became the first newspaper to use a linotype thereby eliminating the the need to set typesetting by hand; whether the increase speed off getting news to the public improved the quality or lack of bias in the reporting thereof is a matter of great debate.
c. 1913 Confederate veteran attending the Great Reunion of 1913 reenacted Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg which had occurred at 2:00 p.m. 50 years ago as the high water desperate mark of the Confederacy to be met this time  not by bullets and bayonets but rather the outstretched hands of friendship of Union veterans of the Civil War.
d. 1938 President Franklin Roosevelt dedicated the Eternal Peace Memorial and lit the eternal flame at the Gettysburg Battle Memorial.
e. 2013 President Morsi, the leader of the jihadist movement Muslim Brotherhood, was overthrown by the Egyptian military after 4 days of violent protests. This jihadist graduate of USC is now awaiting execution for his crimes against Egypt.
Reflections on sacrifice on the eve of our Declaration of Independence: “May we all, as a nation of believers, fight for the achievement of America; may we make sacrifices worthy of those proud men and women who fought for us, labored for us, bled soil from the beaches of Normandy to the fields of Gettysburg for us. Cory Booker, African-American Blue Senator from New Jersey who may become our noted potential felon’s running mate.  Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs. July 2, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not World Sports Journalists Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 2, 2016. Unfortunately still 202 days to go in President Obama’s pathetic lame duck term as he pivots to doing what he loves to do which is campaigning since he is a complete failure as a president; the fat lady was singing today in front of the FBI over her email server and potential quid pro quo on Bill Clinton’s speaking fees and Clinton Foundation donations; the furor over Lynch’s tete-a-tete with Bill Clinton continues unabated as it should (but the Clintons play by a different set of rules); Blue Senators by a party line vote blocked the Senate from approved the House Zika virus funding bill; look for more outrageous behavior on the part of House Blues when they return from recess; Warren is on the warpath touting that socialism ala Europe is the only way to go; in another Willie Horton like moment an illegal alien who had been deported six times in ten years killed three and wounded one at a blueberry farm in Oregon—no wonder people are fearful of the open border. Going to www.lyingcrookedhillay.com is a great way to start your day along of course with www.alaskanpoet.blogspot.com
On the good news front and boy do we need it after learning of the attack at a restaurant in Bangladesh by Islamists that killed 20 patrons, is that the dreaded ozone hole in our atmosphere is getting smaller, not larger,
As always, I hope  you enjoy today’s holidays and observances,  a music link to Fine Young Cannibals, factoids of interest, a  relevant quote from Senator John Sherman while looking forward to enjoying some anisette, blessed with a positive attitude and  secure in  the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or  anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem  at a great price  tailored to the event and the recipient. July 1, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Canada Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 1, 2016. Unfortunately still 203 days to go in President Obama’s pathetic lame duck term as the financial markets slowly are recovering from the meltdown after Brexit; any doubt that radical Islam is a worldwide existential threat to civilization notwithstanding Obama’s silence on Istanbul and Kerry’s ludicrous assertion while taking a break from climate change rants that ISIS is desperate, news today is that another attack this time on a restaurant in Bangladesh with an ongoing hostage situation; when it comes to corruption our potential felon continues to break new ground this time with her son-in-law and his hedge fund focusing on Greece; FBI agents are livid that a former attorney general of Arkansas Bill Clinton met with our current AG who stated today she will follow the recommendations of the FBI and career prosecutors when it comes to indicting these two felons; sounds of silence from the White House still there on the Istanbul attack as Turkey vows revenge—when will our delusional president come to grips with the fact that we have to destroy the caliphate?
In California the scene of the San Bernardino radical Islamist shootings at a Christmas party, Governor Brown has signed several bills which will make it much more difficult for law abiding citizens to defend themselves; in Washington, D.C. funding for Zika virus efforts failed due to Blue obstructions; and lastly as we approach the 4th and honor those brave patriots who rose up against the British Lion and after years of sacrifice enabled this country to be established here is a poem I wrote nine years ago following drunken disturbances in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach which hopefully will not be repeated this year: http://alaskanpoet.blogspot.com/2012/07/independence-day-thoughts.html

As always, I hope  you enjoy today’s holidays and observances,  a music link to Michael Jacson, factoids of interest, a  relevant quote from Pamela Anderson to honor her on her birthday while looking forward to enjoying some ice cream, blessed with a positive attitude and  secure in  the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or  anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem  at a great price  tailored to the event and the recipient. 1. Fishermen’s Holiday—as a former Alaskan salmon seiner, this is an observance worthy of note although observed only in the Marshal Islands—as my father used to always say the true nobility without whom we would have been relegated to small numbers of humans scratching out a miserable existence always on the edge of starvation are the fishermen and the farmers.
2. Canada Day—celebrating since 1867 the unification of three colonies north of our borders into a nation known as Canada, one of our strongest allies and the birthplace of my mother.
3. 1988 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1988 on a run of one week in that position by Michael Jackson “Dirty Diana.”  Here is a link to Michael Jackson performing that song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUi_S6YWjZw  Title of the song notwithstanding, it has nothing to do with Princess Diana who was born on this day in 1961.
4. National Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day—celebrating a really great way to beat the summer heat and get out of the box of vanilla, chocolate or strawberry traditional flavors---be it Ben and Jerry’s or make it your own today experiment when you put spoon to bowl.
5. Talk About A Favorite Canadian On Canada Day—celebrating the birthday on this day in 1967 of the Baywatch Babe famous among things for her honeymoon video and  who started her career as a model for Labatt Brewery, Pamela Anderson.
On this day in:
a. 1863 the Battle of Gettysburg, the high water mark of the Confederacy began.
b. 1884 the Sholes and Glidden typewriter, the world’s first successful typewriter went on sale.
c. 1903 the start of the first Tours de France bicycle race began.
d. 1963 zip codes were introduced by the U.S. Post Office.
e. 2007 in a move for health smoking was banned in all public indoor places.
Reflections on being blonde from the Baywatch Babe: “It’s great to be a blonde. With such low expectations it’s very easy to surprise people.” Pamela Anderson
