Obama was handed an opportunity on
a silver platter
To influence the course of events
on something that really matters
A little one on one with his
Mexican counterpart
A chance to gain a Marine's release
to show he cares, has a heart
Tahmooressi did not evidently make
the cut
His prison doors remain locked and
shut
For a man who lives and breathes
politics rather than policy at every chance
He seems clueless over the anger we
feel over his freedom the President did not advance
No Taliban warriors to release only
one traumatized Marine Vet
Rose Garden ceremony, rise in
approval would be a sure bet
But no; did not even the question
even raise or release suggest
No wonder having him as CinC makes
many of us depressed
