Sudanese Ibrahim Jailed After One Day Of Freedom

After being in prison because once a Muslim woman always a Muslim woman who may not a Christian marry
Delivering birth to a child in prison under sentence to be hanged and then buried
For the crime of marrying a Christian and refusing to recant her faith in a Christian God
After outcry in the West led by Fox News that the image of peaceful Islam is a total fraud
A cleric judge relents and orders her set free
To not face a rope looped over a hanging tree
This poet and others breathed a sigh of relief and joy that maybe Sharia has a human heart
While the State Department dithered on granting asylum for Ibrahim and family to the U.S. depart
But freedom under Sharia is like the joy of the bungee jumping cord thrill
After soaring down into the excitement of freedom, it pulls you back for the kill
Imprisoned now after a day of freedom from Sudan's Sharia law in a jail for the Sudan trying to leave
Back to the scaffold once again we hope and pray not after a one day reprieve
The State Department should immediate grant her and her family asylum in the United States
While for her release to leave the Sudanese cajole and berate
While the rest of us with hopes that finally a balloon of hope Sharia would show tolerance watch that balloon deflate
Sadly, Ibrahim may become a martyr far before her time, a wake up call to the dangers of Sharia that will grow not abate
This woman is a hero; how many of us would abandon life for love of husband and belief in Christ
Facing death, yet secure in her faith that Christ's love for her will suffice
