While we move on a dead march to confront these past "jayvees"
Obama states on the White House lawn we cannot make military moves
Until the political differences between Sunni and Shiite have been removed
Sunnis and Shiites have been killing each other for over a thousand years
Somehow at the gates of Baghdad they going embrace with kumbya cheers
Read between the words even if in days we launch air strikes at this late date
No more effective than Rolling Thunder and we now have an Islamic state
Bush may have started this mess with the search for phantom WMDs
Removing Saddam for all his faults prevented the jihadists from running free
But the withdrawal without a status of forces and the Maliki pick on Obama's watch
We now see the deadly and disastrous effects of a major inept botch
Why did he not listen to the generals who on this point were quite firm
Without some boots left, Iraq would implode into chaos in the near or mid term
In typical fashion our President with his true jayvee foreign policy team
That places politics above policy so they can enjoy the Al Qaeda is on the run dream
Gives a speech on great concern but at least no red lines then is off
Trip in North Dakota while the leaders of ISIS must only laugh and scoff
Maybe visiting the Standing Rock Reservation where unemployment is 80 percent might open his anti-fracking eyes
Stymied by the federal regulators in attempts to develop oil and gas no matter how hard they try
And if on his flight as reads of oil prices continuing to rise due to the chaos in Iraq
He might do the right thing and open up drilling on federal lands and approve Keystone XL to put energy independence on track
