My father
used to regale me with stories of the naval Filipino stewards serving in the officers’
mess
High and
mighty Naval grads often treated them with disdain and put them under great
duress
Woe be it to
officer wearing a class ring who treated the stewards like scum
Putting them
on meaningless reports always under a disdaining thumb
When my chief
petty officer father’s wise words to these officers were ignored
The instances
of urine flavoring in the salads and soups of the grads soared
It almost
seems like a déjà vu from a New Mexico school that teaches prison guards
Correctional
officers are not icons of compassion only discipline delivered baton hard
A woman
there has been charged with battery for on the cheese slices choosing to lick
One can only
hope these charges do not stick
Correctional
officers are in most cases brutal to their very core
Maybe a
little behavior training might make the cheese licking cases drop and not soar.
