Sitting in a Starbucks near Bristol
and Redhill
Transported back to Alaska to fight
the chill
Airconditioning cranked down to near
Fairbanks clime
Something about the cold that brings
out the Alaskanpoet rhyme
Watching a barista with a name of
Jess plying her caffeine rounds
A burst of total speed dispensing
the liquid from the coffee grounds
Maybe because this is a drive
through the baristas are driven by speed
A sense of urgency to give the
customers the caffeine they need
Poetry and beauty in motion defines
this barista Jess
A dynamo in shapely black dress
A pony tail like tail feathers to
flight stabilize
Service and the right attitude never
a surprise
Others may try to the growth of
Starbucks suppress
To know they will fail due to the
baristas just come to this address
