19 Morning Mushing Report for the Iditarod
67
mushers have completed the race; 4 are still mushing and are currently in White
Mountain 77 miles away to the end of their agony and 14 have been scratched or have
withdrawn. White Mountain is a balmy 2 degrees above zero with gentle winds of
10 mph and Nome which each of them should reach in about 11-13 hours after they
depart is a sweltering 4 degrees above zero. Here are the four racers, three of
whom are rookies, waiting to depart from White Mountain:

In
one of the early Mushing Reports I had a photo of a dog team that evoked images
of the Hillary campaign with their blue vests. In the interests of fair and
balanced and proving that Hillary does not have the women’s vote locked up,
here is a photo of rookie Miriam Osredkar (56th place) and her
female dogs campaigning for the Reds.
