Dribbling Marines Into Disaster In Iraq

It’s often called mission creep
When more and more troops are sent in to an enemy defeat
In Vietnam from a few Marines landing on the beaches at Da Nang to air bases protect
To 500,000 Americans in a failed attempt to from the South eject\
In a war we should have never fought at least those troops had the support to any attack  reject
Today, we are dribbling combat forces into Iraq to ISIS atrocities check
Marines have through their glorious history been the tip of the spear
With a thick shaft of shock and awe behind them them any foe would fear
But here the supporting force is hollow, an empty shell
Not American air but highly suspect Iraqis in which these Marines will dwell
There is no greater on this planet sin
Than to send Marines into combat with not enough forces in any combat to win
A dribble here, a dribble there, from this administration too little too late
Sacrificing our American Spartans to a potential deadly fate
When will this legacy obsessed president at least pay a little lip service to Powell’s Law?
Put American forces in harm’s way and you do it only with overwhelming shock and awe
