January 18, 2023 Ridley's Believe It Or Not

On this Hump Day, Biden must be hoping that the classified document scandal will with his allies in the MSM slide into obscurity off the front pages as no new classified documents have been discovered while also praying that his formerly addicted Hunter was clean enough not to create on his laptop a document trail that would show Biden benefited from CCP payments. In a reminder of the corruption of sports by politization, the Warriors were feted at the White House as they should be for winning the NBA Championship but should be castigated for refusing to be also so honored by the Trump Administration when they won the title when he was president. The winter storms that have bashed California have ended but hopefully more rain is forecasted which can be captured and returned to the ground aquifer for later use to reduce the amount of water needed to be imported at higher prices and although Newsom’s push to curtail the sale of gas powered cars and gas stoves will place more demands on our power grid, it may be time to start building desalinization plants which would acerbate the demands but would be economic lifesavers. I hope you also enjoy today’s Ridley's Believe It Or Not  and find it worthy to read and if not reply “Unsubscribe” to be removed.
Ridley’s Believe It Or Not January 18, 2023
Noted Holidays: National Gourmet Coffee Day, Clueless as to what coffee roaster created this but it is clear thanks to roasters such as Starbucks, we have come a long way from mainly the Folgers and Maxwell House in the cans to micro roasters touting gourmet coffees in 10-12 ounce packages about as numerous as the micro brewed beer and ale that crowds supermarket shelves.
Word of the Day: The word of the day is “adjuvant” which means a substance added to make a vaccine more effective which given the proclivity of the fully vaccinated and boosted here in the U.S. to still come down with COVID-19 even though with much less risk of death or long hospitalization making us wonder whether in the rush to bring the vaccines to market needed adjuvants were not added.
Number 1 Song of the Day: The number 1 song on this day in 1983 was “Maneater” by John Oates and Daryl on a run of 2 weeks following 2 in 1982 to share with 16 other songs achieving number 1 status while 9 acts achieved their first number 1 song.  Here is a music video with lyrics displayed of John Oates and Daryl Hall  performing “Maneater”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRYFKcMa_Ek
Noted Birthdays: Kevin Costner, an American actor, director, producer and musician with two Academy Awards, was born on this day in 1955 and best known for Dances With Wolves, Bull Durham and The Untouchables and the TV series Yellowstone. Though he tried out as a walk on make the Cal State Fullerton Titans Baseball Team and failed, he is a loyal fan and tries to attend games during the College World Series if the Titans are playing.

Quote of the DayMayor Marion Barry in a Narcissistic Moment on the Size of His Security Detail:
People have criticized me because my security detail is larger than the president's. But you must ask yourself: are there more people who want to kill me than who want to kill the president? I can assure you there are.
