Stanford’s loss to the Women of Troy
Resulted in a fall from number 2 to number 4 enjoy
Returning to the welcome confines of Maples to play the 8th
ranked Utes
Utes came out on all cylinders and a second loss in a row looked hard to refute
But the Cardinal calmed down even as its starting point
guard by injury was sent off the floor
But with Jump making her first 5 shots and Haley and Brink coming
alive the Cardinal began to outscore
Ended the half with a 9 point lead that by the 3rd quarter end reduced to 5
Maples’ fans beginning to worry against a comeback by high
scoring Utes, the Cardinal would not survive
In the 4th quarter the Utes aped their 2nd
quarter performance and by 7 were outscored
Too late in the 4th quarter for the Utes, Brink with 25 points, 12
rebounds and 3 blocks fouled out and left the floor
On Sunday the Buffaloes away from their court at home
Will at Maples try to drop in baskets as they hope to roam
With PAC 12 Network TV screens at Orange County sports bars rarely there
Hard to follow Cardinal baskets and Brink’s blocks
dominating Maples’ air
