Tooth Fairy Day—honoring the one concept that children believe in much longer than the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus probably because after placing a lost tooth under his or her pillow when she or he wakes up in the morning finds money and no tooth. Most children probably wish we were more like sharks that continually shed and replace their teeth. Not even lawyers have that ability.

in the fruit bowl as 24th is National Peach Pie Day.

Good Lookin Day—celebrating a reason to enjoy Italian cooking by
celebrating the birthday of Giada De Laurentis on this day in 1970 host of the Food
Network. She is the granddaughter of noted film director Dino De Laurentis.

1864 the First Geneva Convention governing the treatment of sick and wounded
troops in the field was executed by twelve nations.
c. 1952 the French penal colony on Devil’s Island was permanently closed.
d. 1992 FBI sniper Lon Horuichi at Ruby Ridge shot and killed Vicki Weaver standing
in the doorway of her house with her baby in her arms. Fortunately the baby was
not hit but sadly the manslaughter charges against her killer were dismissed
although the taxpayers ended up paying her survivors $3.1 million dollars to
settle the ensuing wrongful death lawsuit.

2007 in a very bad day for pitchers, the Texas Rangers defeated the Baltimore
Orioles 30-3, the most runs ever scored in a Major League Baseball game.
