Former Red Governor of Virginia Robert McConnell who was
prosecuted for bribery by Trump’s nemesis Robert Smith
Attacked his indictment and claimed Smith’s assertions in the Trump case that
all defendants are presumed innocent was a myth
He is convinced based upon his 3 ½ year ordeal
That the truth about Smith’s practices reveal
“Smith would rather convict that get it right”
Dangerous motivation akin to prosecutorial abuse blight
In a rare show of unanimity SCOTUS overturned his conviction
The DOJ decided not to retry despite Smith’s ambitions
Any prosecutor who is not willing to follow and then abide
by the facts
But rather to ignore them and proceed to convict even if
beyond reasonable doubt he knows he lacks
Is a real threat to our system of following the rule of law
Ripping it out by the roots not just on the surface seeking
to only gnaw
McConnell has warned Trump that under Smith, Lady Justice is
not blind
He will justify any means to a prison cell Trump try to bind
