Whether it’s the mob attacking a store in smash and grab
Which cops seem helpless to stop or the perpetrators nab
The cost to retailers of shoplifting continues to soar
No surprise that in addition to inflation goods cost more
On the left we hear the latest cry
Theft is not a crime how can we the goods the poor need deny?
A MSM distorting myth that shoplifters are taking needed food to put on their table
When it's gourmet food, high priced wine and alcohol to refute the fable
Merchants now are erasing the Piggly Wiggly revolutionary trend
More and more goods are behind locked screens, the beginning of self-service to end
Or fearing liability prohibiting employees from thievery trying to stop
While given staffing merchants know it’s a waste of time to call the cops
When Blue bleeding hearts legislators raise the value felony hurdle for goods the thugs steal
The message becomes if you shoplift with impunity a free pass for jewelry or cars is revealed
So if an employee from families with a belief that you should not steal
And tries to stop shoplifters how does the employer most likely deal?
Not a commendation or cash reward but a pink slip to a firing of a 68 yr old 13 yr employee at Lowe's reveal
