Miki Sudo with 39.5 Hot Dogs on a Bun and Joey "Jaws" Chestnut with 62 Hot Dogs on a Bun Win Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on the 4th at Coney Island

How could you not have a 4th of July
Without all manner of caloric excess deny?
The answer due to bad weather at Coney Island was not
Threat of lightning storms in a two hour delay to the titles the reigning champions sought
Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest is a cherished event
To in 10 minutes see how many hot dogs and buns remain in the stomach after being sent
On the woman’s side seeking her 9th title which would have been her tenth in a row but in 2021 she could not compete
A pregnancy would have severely limited the number of hot dogs she would have been able to eat
Miki Sudo downed 39.5 hot dogs and buns to win the title and $10,000 bucks
On the men’s side Joey “Jaws” Chestnut easily won his 16th title with 62 hotdogs with buns
Humans are blessed with two lungs, two kidneys but in Chestnut's case maybe two stomachs to explain his  long title run
Both champions confident of earning another easy 10 grand
Will be back to defend in the most famous eating contest in the land
