Justice Thomas must be sighing a sigh of relief
No longer the only Justice for a dear friend’s payment of his vacations causing
grief
Justice Soto Mayor is in the ethics hot seat for having
staff help her on her writing career
And trying to in law school libraries and
course requirements her books appear
Though to the outside the feeling that she is guilty of improper overreach will
not disappear
Her fellow members of SCOTUS believes that her activities are in the clear
SCOTUS as an independent third branch has not created the
ethical requirements found in the other two branches
That have created the appearance of improper influence that
like an infected boil needs to be lanced
District and Appellate Court Judges have standards of
conduct they must follow
But not SCOTUS so to the outside there is the appearance of
improper wallow
Chief Justice Roberts must realize that SCOTUS is under severe
partisan attack
Like the country deeply divided with the left wanting to
increase the number and lifetime appointments cut back
Our system of the rule of law becomes a slender reed too easy in the partisan
winds to break or bend
If the general population believe that justice is no longer
blind the rule of law will come to an end
SCOTUS needs a code of conduct to insure cases are decided
by the Constitution and the rule of law
Not by the appearance of gifts and trips friends chose to them send which would
be for judicial independence a fatal
last straw
While crafting a code of ethics it is high time to bring in the FBI
It is clear that the SCOTUS marshals to solve the Dobbs leak we should not rely
