Elon Musk like many executives has been warning about the decline
of the Bay Area along with the Golden State
Until they are blue in the face and no longer a turnaround
have the patience to await
Getting worse than a decline but more like a doom spiral
from which recovery is doomed to fail
But for now Twitter’s X will still be found in the City by the Bay as Musk is
not ready to bail
Homelessness, rampant drug use, rampant violent and property
crime
Sidewalks and parks covered in urine and fecal slime
From 2020-2022 7.5% of the SFO County’s population pulled up their stakes and to
other areas went
Office vacancy in the city grew in the 2nd
quarter by 1.83 million square feet from 29.4 to 31.6 percent
When office buildings become vacant the stores, coffee
houses and diners that supported their former workers close
For the once beautiful City by the Bay its bloom is surely
on the rose
One has to admire Musk for not packing up and leaving the
Bay
But if the City does not right itself there will soon come the day
When Musk enjoined by a tone deaf city from replacing the blue bird with an “X”
Will say “enough” and join those once wanting to stay to now
staying reject
