The
Washington D.C. race for mayor would put any Red into deep despair
The city is
76 percent Blue; any Red would have to climb a great many hurdles and stairs
But in the
heart of politicians for reason that logic defies
There is
always the ego and the thirst for power that urges one to try
Catania a
former Red but now an Indy and openly gay
Even though
he is white he is running hard to get the black vote to come his way
His foe Muriel
Bowser who is Blue and black has a 17 point lead
If you think
the feds are dysfunctional, the District has gone to total seed
Official after
official do not serve out their terms
Stealing and
corruption are crimes is a lesson they seem not to learn
With the
public schools at the very bottom of nation’s achievement test
A change in
the reflex and habit of electing Blues is great to suggest
Catania
after the sorry state of felons in office would be a welcome change
With no
Obama on the ballot, low Blue turnout a Catania upset might be arranged
