Mitch Seavey Wins Iditarod

Iditarod Tails March 15, 2017 4:00 A.M. The drama is over and the winner of the Iditarod is now known. 56 year old Mitch Seavey has won entering Nome yesterday afternoon at 3:40 followed by his son Dallas almost three hours behind him but 5 minutes ahead of Nicolas Pettit. Joar Ulsom and  Jessie Royer came in 4th and 5th. There are 61 mushers still on the trail with Cindy Abbot in last place out of Kaitag only 346 miles away from Nome. 5 mushers have dropped out. Imagine what courage it must take to be in last place, freezing, with no human companionship only canine and motivated only by the desire to finish or perhaps not finish last. Amazing Mush on Cindy Abbot as you are an inspiration to us all. I had previously thought Alaska due to the dislike by most of its residents was a Red state but Nicolas Petit coming into Nome in third may have proved me wrong as his dogs are clad in blue:
