Iditarod Tails March 8, 2017 11:00 P.M.

 The top five mushers have pulled into Ruby, a mild -10 degrees and 346 miles from the start of the race in this order Wade Marrs, Dallas Seavey, Mitch Seavey, Nicolas Petit, and Joar Ulsom,  with a little over three hours separating first from fifth. Michelle Phillips and Aliy Zirkle, 7th and 8th respective have left one minute apart from Tanana 119 miles from Ruby. Also out of Tanana are rookie Sebastien Vergnaud in 15th place; rookie Roy Redington, the grandson of the co-founder of the Iditarod  is in 27th behind his two brothers; Laura Neese the highest placed female  rookie is in 35th ; the Berington Twins are 45th and 46th running a minute apart so they can enjoy company other than of the canine sort; Dee Dee Jonrove at 63 is in 53rd;  Cindy Abbot is in 67th  still in Tanana and rookie Jimmy Lebling is in last place still in Tanana. The Last Great Race on Earth has claimed its first casualty as Mark May out of concern for his dogs withdrew at Tanana.
