Ridley’s
Believe It Or Not For May 11, 2016 Unfortunately
still 254 days to go in President Obama’s pathetic lame duck term. Very exciting political theater Trump is coming to
Washington, D.C. to meet with Paul Ryan and leaders of the Republican Senate
and House to pursue unity while Romney who ran the most pathetic campaign in
history while losing to Obama continues to rail against Trump who has set a
record for the most votes in the Republican primaries; HRC continues to dismiss
the FBI’s investigation as merely a “security review” as a miffed director of the FBI declares he doesn’t know
what HRC is talking about; HRC continues to refuse to release her speech
transcripts and Trump is dodging releasing his tax returns, citing the fact
they are under audit. As always, I hope your Wednesday is off to a great start
and that you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, factoids of interest, a relevant quote from Daniel
Ellsberg, while looking forward to enjoying whatever you want to
eat today, blessed with a positive attitude and secure in the knowledge that, if you want to
find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or
anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique
customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the
recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. National Twilight Zone Day—celebrating the imaginative and creative television show The Twilight Zone, created, written and
directed by Rod Sterling that captivated audiences for over five years.
2. National
Receptionists Day—celebrating the achievements of professional receptionists who
are usually the first person a client or customer will meet and whose demeanor
and skills can create a great impression or sour a potential relationship
before it even starts.
3. 1996 Number One Song—celebrating the number
one song in 1996 on a long run of eight
weeks (do not understand why anyone would listen to this garbage time to go
back to rock and roll) in that position Tha
Crossroads by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Here’s a link to these rappers Bone
Thugs-N-Harmony performing Tha Crossroads: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMYAEHE2GrM
4. National Eat What You Want Day—celebrating
that rebel streak we all have; today would be a perfect day to ignore all the
warnings of what you should or should eat and splurge on what you enjoy—after
all yesterday’s pariahs of bacon and eggs are today’s health food.
5. Horse and Alcohol Don’t Mix Well—celebrating
the birthday on this day in 1982 of Cory Monteith, a Canadian born actor who
struggled with drug and alcohol abuse since the age of 12 and died alone from a
heroin overdose mixed with alcohol in a Vancouver hotel room.
On this day in:
a. 868 the Diamond Sutra, the oldest known dated book was
printed in China.
b. 1927 the Academy of
Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was founded in Los Angeles.
c. 1973
citing governmental misconduct, a federal district court judge dismissed all
charges filed against Daniel Ellsberg for releasing the Pentagon Papers which revealed the level of deception of the
Pentagon involving our involvement in the Vietnam War to the New York Times.
d. 1997 IBM’s Deep Blue, a super computer defeated world chess champion Garry
Kasparov, becoming the first computer to defeat a world chess champion.
e. 1998 India became the sixth country to
develop nuclear weapons by detonating three nuclear devices, one of which was a
hydrogen bomb.
Reflections on the role of government in dealing with the
American people: “Look, all administrations, all
governments lie, all officials lie and nothing they say is to be believed.
That's a pretty good rule.” Daniel Ellsberg Ellsberg is definitely on point but
sadly from “If you like your health insurance you can keep it,” to the
deception over the nature of the Iran nuclear deal, Obama not only has refined
the art of lying and deception to an art form and his minions are quick to tout
that because Obama “knows what is best for the American people.” As we have
seen his clone HRC is also a master of lying and deception, totally dishonest
and not worthy of occupying the White House especially when her occupancy comes
with the First Man, also known as the First Sexual Predator.
