The first of
expected El Nino storms arrived in California to deliver much needed snow and
rain
To put a
dent in the Golden State’s serious drought that for farmers and business a
major bane
Suddenly in
the pouring rain umbrellas that have not seen any use in years
Along with
boots, raincoats and all manner of foul weather gear
Traffic
snarled, homeless scattered from the now rushing river beds
Sky resorts
clogged with skiers, snowboarders and
kids with sleds
But a couple
of storms in January’s first week does not a long term drought end
And may lull
Californians into relaxing their conservation of water trend
For today
the rain and snow we welcome and look for more
Each drop
not converted into flash floods or mudslides will our reservoirs and water
tables restore
Thank God it
does rain in Southern California regardless of the traffic grief
Pray and
dance for more for much needed drought relief
