The first
casualty in war is not the soldiers who first hit the beach
Or the storm
troopers charging through shot and hell into a breach
No, the
first casualty dies quickly, an unknown victim unmourned
While the
fabric of what happened or why is quickly shorn
In war we
gather all the resources to the enemy deceive
We want to
make sure at the point of attack his forces look elsewhere and leave
Ferguson may
not be in a war although it is becoming a well armed camp
Where a rush
to judgment means the truth is distorted and revamped
Our cities
have become the surplus weapons of war dumping ground
A steady
stream of ordinance aimed at protestors peacefully on the ground
Ferguson
should not become another Beirut or a bloody Belfast
Hopefully
with a thorough investigation as to this death this tragedy will not last.
Until then it
is a time for the voices of calm and restraint
Whether
Michael Brown was charging or was a hands in the air saint
