Governor Nixon’s
demand for vigorous prosecution of the Ferguson cop
Is exactly
the sort of Rush to Judgment that needs to stop
The Grand
Jury has just started its investigation of Darren Wilson’s use of force
Yet Nixon
appears to believe it has already been complete and has run its course
He must
believe that in the case of a police shooting innocent until proven guilty does
not apply
Even without
an indictment he must believe that white on black means in court you have to
try
Six shots at
a 292 pound man charging against a cop already battered about his face
Is not the
same as murder regardless of the shooter‘s or the victim’s race
Everyone on
this planet would urge a vigorous and transparent investigation to determine
the facts
If there is
an indictment and only if, a prosecution must be vigorous not held back
In his urge
to grab headlines I wonder if it ever crossed Nixon’s mind
If the Grand
Jury does not indict the town of Ferguson is going to be in a major rioting
bind
From the
likes of Al Sharpton one has come to racial incitements expect
But from a
governor of a state a disappointment that he did pause and a Rush to Judgment reject.
