Americans
wonder what is the new norm
As
the American spirit for greatness seems to be reborn
Even
as from the Swamp and Congress gridlock is the prevailing norm
Fueled
by a loss of civility and compromise we all should mourn
Each
side wishing for another victory at all cost ribbon to one’s chest adorn
Anyone
who disagrees in the PC culture is ruthlessly scorned
We
once were two nations one black one white still two but now into left and right
torn
Any
effort to have rational and civil discussion quickly becomes stillborn
Speak
out against the PC police and the left quickly the race card warns
No
wonder the art of compromise lies on a bed of thorns
Total
depressed, rejected in pain hurt and forlorn
The
only notes we hear is either charge or taps played from the partisan horns
The
only way to win an argument is not with the best idea but with the biggest
bullhorn
