Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For September 22, 2017 Disturbing news of Gestapo like tactics by the witch
hunter in chief Robert Mueller’s team picking the lock on Manafort’s home while
the unmaskers in chief Power and Rice are not the subject of any investigation
of really outrageous threats to our democratic way of life; Elizabeth Warren
who rails against the one percent while the affirmative action
rules she totally bent by claiming Native American status to jump ahead of the
line is now being properly slammed for her hypocrisy of milking the system to
rise to the top (will her pathetic attacks on the one percent ever stop?);
another example of why the Golden State is misnamed as Curry’s great contract
payments run into the Californian tax blood sucking leech (no star athlete
should ever agree to play for a California based team given its tax policy and
should move to join any citizen outraged by the designation of California as a
“Sanctuary State” and move out of this state; the lunatic now known as the
“Rocket Man” is threatening to detonate a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific which
adds another justification to hammering the nail on his coffin even if it
is a nuclear preemptive strike that eliminates this lunatic and any and all of
his supporters or family members; ivy at Harvard seems to find its way into the
derriere of the image of Harvard as 150 professors have signed a letter
protesting the revocation of fellow status of convicted traitor Manning who
should have rotted in prison instead of having a feckless pathetic out going
wimp commute his/her sentence (what an absolute crock and why parents should
reject sending their kids to this university); with a rogue nation like North
Korea, maybe some credence to the Biblical prediction that the world will end
tomorrow but this poet is fearful that the only disaster will be that after
nine straight losses to the Cardinal, UCLA will prevail on the 23rd;
through September 20, 2017 in Chicago the number of people being
shot climbed to 2760 and the death toll standing at 476 while the city seems to
not be doing anything to prevent the killing and maiming of its minority
residents—a real definition of racism which is deadly.

1. OneWebDay—created
in 2006 to promote awareness of the internet and the need to protect its open
and free access.
2. World Car Free Day—observed since 1994 to encourage
people to leave their cars in the garage and to use other means of
transportation like walking or biking to reach work or shopping.
3. 1964 Number One Song— the number one song in
1964 on a run of 3 weeks in that position was “Oh! Pretty Woman” by Roy
Orbison. Here is a performance of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PLq0_7k1jk
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “kelter”
which means nonsense which is what we have to listen to from most denizens of
the Swamp that defies the best efforts of Trump to drain it.
5. This Jet Takes Off with Great Sounds--celebrating
the birth on this day in 1958 of noted rock singer Joan Larkin better known to
her fans as Joan Jett; best known for her song “I Love Rock and
Roll.”
On
this day in:
a.
1692 the last women convicted of witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts were hanged
bringing a very sad part of our history to an end.
b.
1888 the National Geographic was
first published.
c.
1927 Jack Dempsey lost the “long count” heavy weight championship match to Gene
Tunney.
d. 1975 Sara Jane Moore,
a five time divorcee and mother of four children failed in her attempt to
assassinate President Ford; after serving 32 years in prison she was paroled.
e.
1993 a barges struck a railway bridge near Mobile, Alabama used by Amtrak’s Sunset Limited causing a derailment that
killed 47 passengers and terminated future service of the Sunset Limited from New Orleans to Orlando.
Two reflections from Sara Jane Moore on the dog whistles of hate
being blown by the left in reference to our president: “The government had declared war on the
left. Nixon's appointment of
Ford as Vice President and his resignation
making Ford President seemed to be a continuing assault on America.” “I know now that I was
wrong to try. Thank God I didn't succeed. People kept saying he would have to
die before I could be released, and I did not want my release from prison to be
dependent on somebody, on something happening to somebody else, so I wanted him
to live to be 100." Let’s hope the left is moved by the second quote rather than the
first. Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you
