Ridley’s
Believe It Or Not For August 23, 2016 Only 77 waning days
to go for Trump to pivot before we elect a new president and 260 days
since Hillary has held a formal press conference (where is the outrage of the
press as she yucks up the spreading email controversy on the Fallon late night
show between fund raising in L.A.); in the photo op department, after being
ridiculed for playing golf while thousands of homes were damaged by flooding
with 13 people killed, Obama finally left today for Louisiana without his golf
clubs; the email pay to play scandal for Hillary and her Foundation as 15,000
new emails recovered by the FBI keeps getting worse as Trump demands a special
prosecutor as clearly Lynch has shed her ethics at the private jet door after
meeting with Bill Clinton for a half hour before Hillary’s interview with the
FBI (which incredibly was not recorded or with a court reporter present) to
discuss issues regarding grandchildren; phone logs show 148 phone calls between
the Foundation’s COO and Hillary’s top aide Cheryl Mills (State in a typical
Clintonesque argument of what is is states although Hillary signed an agreement
with the White House to have no contacts with the Foundation, the agreement was
not binding on her top aides); is Huma Abedin a fifth columnist for radical
Islam given her writings at a radical Islamist journal for 12 years and can she
be remotely trusted with sensitive information if Hillary is in the White
House?; in a close the barn door after the cows have escaped moment and
probably in response to Trump’s demand that the Foundation be shut down, the
Clinton campaign announced the Foundation will no longer accept foreign and
corporate donations if she is elected (what about speaking fees for Bill and
what about the Clinton Global Imitative?); another chilling reminder of Obama’s
failed radical Islam strategy due to an Islamist attack on two innocents in
Virginia by Wasil Farooqui yelling “Allahu Akbar while he tried to behead the
male victim in his failed attack; watch for more political ads from gun
advocates like the NRA as Hillary’s immediate legislation will include bills to
make gun manufacturers liable for mass shootings; more chilling news as Iraqi
police arrested another 12 year old ISIS Cub wanna-be suicide bomber before he
could detonate his suicide vest; and more cases of Zika reported in the Tampa
area outside of the ground zero area in Miami—we are running out of time here
while the Blues in the Senate blocked a House funding bill and Miami schools
are distributing insect repellent to students returning to school.
On the sports front, Ryan Lochte who is
shedding sponsors faster than dandruff flakes has been falsely accused by leftist
blogger Cynthia Dill as being a bro of Trump which explains his drunken
behavior and lying (ironic but typical leftist dribble since Trump is a
teetotaler).
As
Trump is becoming more presidential, going to www.lyingcrookedhillary.com
is a great way to start your day along of course with www.alaskanpoet.blogspot.com
and reading Clinton Cash would be a
great read to understand the quid pro quo mentality of the Clintons.
As always,
I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Olivia
Newton-John, factoids of interest, a relevant quote from Gary Patton, while
looking forward to enjoying a slice of sponge cake, blessed with a positive attitude and secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift
for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you
know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem
at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only
contact me for details.
1. European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism—created by the European Parliament in 2008 to honor the
millions who died under the regimes of Stalin and Hitler and observed on this
date as it coincides with the signing of the Molotov Ribbentrop Nonaggression
Treaty on this day in 1939 which enabled Hitler to invade Poland which was
conquered and then divided up between the Soviets and the Germans and gave to
the Soviets the Baltic Republics which Putin wants back and chunks of Romania
and led to the most costly war in terms of lives, both civilian and military,
and property damage the world has ever seen.
Putin’s Russia does not observe the day but does observe Kursk Day in
honor of the Battle of Kursk which broke the Wehrmacht’s back.
2. Hug Your Sweetheart Day—everyone
can use a hug both hugger and huggee; like many observances uncovered by the
Alaskanpoet this is one that should be observed more on a daily basis than
yearly.
3. 1980 Number One Song—celebrating the number
one song in 1980 on a run of four weeks in that position “Magic” by Olivia
Newton-John. Here is a link to Olivia Newton-John performing “Magic.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnkHf069fvA
4. National Sponge Cake Day—celebrating another great cake
especially when topped with strawberries and whipped cream.
5. When On River Styx Even A Phoenix Will Not Rise Again--celebrating the birth on this day in 1970 of River Phoenix, a very promising young Academy Award Nominee actor who had already appear in numerous films but sadly picked up the drug script to play the real role of a drug user and died at the age of 23 of a drug overdose.

On this day in:
a. 1784 western North Carolina, now eastern Tennessee, declared
itself to be independent with a name of Franklin, but it is not accepted into
the United States and ceased to exist in four years and was reacquired by North
Carolina.
b. 1904 to the joy of motorists travelling in snow and ice
covered roads, the tire chain was invented.
c. 1914 Japan
declared war on Germany and bombs the German colony of Tsingtao but fortunately
does not hit the Tsingtao Brewery located there.
d. 1990 West Germany and East Germany announced that the two
countries would reunite.
e. 1996 Osama bin Laden, in an act which this nation should do against ISIS, declared war against the United States for its occupation of the two Muslim holy places.

Reflections on radical Islam which is thriving despite the droning of its leaders: “Whether
most Muslims are peaceable is irrelevant. The fact is that fanatics rule Islam
now & act-out what the Qur'an truly says ...maul, march, & murder every
Infidel if they won't convert!” Gary Patton, retired major general of the U.S.
Army. Please enjoy
