Here’s the way to bring people
together to at least try to issues discuss
Starts by not insulting their
intellect and throwing them under the bus
Insult a person by calling him or
her as an idiot
And he or she tunes out and the opportunity
for rational thought
Disappears behind name calling demeaning
and demonizing rings
Instead of solutions only more
divisiveness to the table bring
The divide between Blue and Red becomes
wider each day
Soon culminating with anger causing
persons to go into harm’s way
Both sides of the aisle and both
sides of the networks
A political process that is broken
and totally berserk
At each other’s throats unable to
solve problems that lurk
Congress stuck in gridlock refusing
to do its work
A dangerous world confronts us when
we should be speaking with a unified voice
Instead we hear resist and calls for
impeachment as the desired choice
Well past time for the rhetoric peddlers
to tone it down and chill out
Time to end the dog whistles of
rhetoric putting sanity to rout
